Wild Horse Mountain | a beautiful Pine Forest Location

Wild Horse Mountain is a beautiful pine forest which is a perfect location for your family photoshoot. With tall trees providing a stunning natural backdrop and acting as a diffuser for harsh daylight.

Wild Horse Mountain is a popular tourist destination on the Sunshine Coast, located just off the Bruce Highway in the Glass House Mountains region of the Sunshine Coast, approximately 70 kilometers north of Brisbane.

One of the main attractions of Wild Horse Mountain is the stunning panoramic views from the lookout tower at the top of the mountain. From here, visitors can see the surrounding Glass House Mountains, Pumicestone Passage, and Moreton Bay.

We will have our photoshoot at the base of this mountain though as the steep climb to the top, although rewarding, may be a bit too tiring to look your best in photos! It is a great reward for adventure after your photoshoot is done though.

There are a few walking trails in the area, including a 1.5-kilometer return trek to the lookout tower. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for most fitness levels, just a bit steep for most of the way.

Wild Horse Mountain is also home to a range of wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies. Visitors should keep an eye out for these animals as they explore the area.

The lookout tower has a picnic area and toilet facilities for visitors. There is also a cafe nearby, offering refreshments and snacks.

So why not make a day of it, invite all your extended family for a beautiful photoshoot, then a brisk walk up the mountain for some gorgeous views, with lunch after?
