First Year Photos | When to book a photoshoot

This first year is so full of milestone moments and I know you have your phone close at hand each day, but I promise there is so much value to be had for capturing specific milestone ages professionally.  Afterall this first year is when your baby changes the most rapidly and these precious moments are some of the most beautiful moments you’ll ever experience!

The following are the First Year Photos I normally recommend and why:-

3 months old

This age is so incredibly special, your baby has started interacting with you, is showing their character and mannerisms, there is lots of laughing, eathing feet and hands and they can lift their head when on their tummy already.

This is the next photoshoot after your newborn photoshoot which I recommend.

6 months old

By this age your baby is starting to get a lot more character and finding things that are especially fun for them.  They love games and playing and this is the age close to where they will be sitting which again gives us another angle to for variety in posing.

9 months old

By 9 months your baby’s personality is getting very clear.  They may be crawling, and know exactly what they want so will be jumping from one set of arms to another.

12 months old

By one year old your baby may be walking, and this is the age where they start looking like a toddler and the baby starts to disappear a bit more each day.  These photoshoots are a lot of fun because your baby will love being thrown up, and can be posed standing between you or as you both hold their hands and swing them back and forth.  Games and running wild are the order of the day and this attitude creates an opportunity for some gorgeous fun shots!
