Nothing prepares you for the overwhelming love you feel for your baby and a Newborn Photography experience inspired by love, light and connection is the perfect way to celebrate this time! Newborn Photography is an art and also a very personal experience, so let me guide you through what to expect from a Newborn Photography experience with me.
You can choose between a Styled Studio Session, or an at-home Newborn Photography experience. You get to use all the beautiful headbands, bonnets, wraps and backgrounds I’ve been collecting over the last decade as well as have the opportunity to show me what types of images you love most. Fine Art Images | Family setups | Styled / Posed images | Capturing character & expressions | Emotive Black and White images are some examples of the styles you can expect from your session. My style has a minimalist feel to it with emphesis on details, character, connection and emotion.
After your session, you will receive your images within 7 days. At this time you are most welcome to join me in studio to see some of the professional print products I have available. This is also the best time to book milestone sessions for the next year. 3, 6, 9 and 12 months are generally the recommended age for Milestone photography and your baby will change so much in this first year that it really is a beautiful project to invest in.
Styled Studio Newborn Photography
Make your life easy by coming to my studio for your newborn photography session!
You can relax on the couch while I capture your newborn baby’s gorgeous details. Feel free to have a nap, you wouldn’t be the first!
I have a large selection of wraps, backdrops, headbands, bonnets and onesies to choose from at your newborn photoshoot and together we will pick the colour scheme to ensure you love your final images!
Your gallery will reflect a variety of images in my signature natural, minimalistic look focussing on connection and details.
At home newborn photography sessions are really special because we can incorporate parts of your home where your newborn baby will spend their time growing up.
Your images will be sentimental and have a lifestyle feel to them which is more natural and tells your story in a truly personal way.
This option is available for the Inspired or Deluxe packages only.
Creating Fine Art Images
These images are composite images created in Photoshop which allows us to keep the session short and sweet while still creating beautiful, elaborate, artful images to keep forever.
The Inspired package can include 1-2 of these images, and the Deluxe package can include up to 5 of these. Additional Fine Art composite images can be created at a cost of $99 per image.
Capturing Character
Let me capture your newborn baby’s character and expressions. I love stretching, yawns and smiles….even though we all know it’s just gas!
When I’m posing your newborn baby I will let them settle in a way that feels comfortable so that their images are uniquely theirs and don’t look like every other newborn baby in the same pose.
I know it takes a big effort to feel photo ready at this time, but I promise you will never regret getting into the photos yourself!
It is the best way to show just how little your newborn baby is now, and a beautiful keepsake to show how much they are loved already!
Emotive Black and White Images
I adore a very dramatically lit black and white image and will convert suitable images from your newborn photography session to black and white. If you love black and white images, then let me know and I will do a few different setups specifcally to convert to black and white. There is something really soulful about a beautifully crafted black and white image!
When I do a black and white conversion there is a lot of individual editing that goes into it so that it is not the same as if you purchased a colour image and just converted it yourself.
After your Session
Your gallery of beautiful images is ready within 7 days of your professional photography session.
Once you have picked your favourite images you have the option of ordering professional quality print products. I have samples of these in my perth photography studio for you to see in person before you decide if you want to opt for professional printing of your favourite images.
Payment plans are available for all my products.
Milestone Sessions during the first year
The first year of your baby’s life is so incredibly special and they change and grow so quickly I encourage all my clients to schedule regular sessions to capture this beautiful time professionally!
I recommend Milestone Photography sessions at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. Whether you want to include family at each of these milestone photography sessions or not is up to you, but I love capturing your family bond as your baby grows up too!

How do I know what date to book?
I can understand how hard it is to plan ahead, so I suggest a tentative date for about a week after your due date and then when your baby arrives we can discuss whether we want to keep or reschedule the original date.
What if my baby won't settle?
My priority is always to make your family and your newborn baby comfortable and sometimes this means we have to adjust the session to fit around your newborn baby’s needs.
Some newborn babies are just not happy when they are not being held and in that case I can adjust your session and pose your newborn baby in your arms to ensure we capture all their beautiful details while being held. This also shows how little they are in your arms.
What if my baby is already older than 14 days?
Sometimes life gets in the way and you may not make it for your newborn photography session within this window.
When that happens we will improvise and while I will always try to achieve the newborn photography poses but if your baby is already alert and not comfortable with their feet up to their chin anymore then we will adjust the session to suit your baby and capture different poses which show their character exactly as they are now.
