Sunrise is the best time for a beach family photoshoot in Perth!

Sunrise is by far my favourite time for beachside family photos in Perth.

In the mornings you have the sun on your face with the coastline behind you, there is less wind and barely any crowds which makes it an incredibly serene, tranquil time of day to be out.

The beautiful colours of sunrise against our incredible white sandy beaches also lends itself to really beautiful, soft portraits with a minimalist feel to them – all of my favourite things rolled into one!

I was so glad when I managed to convince this beautiful family that the 5am start was worth the effort, because look at the beautiful end result!

Backlit Family Portraits | Perth Family Photographer

Beautiful Backlit Family Portraits at Hyde Park Golden hour is great for backlit images. During this time, the sun is low on the horizon and creates beautiful, warm lighting. Using a dark background, in this case the dark green trees, you can get the light filtered through the trees and showing up against the dark backdrop to create the rim lighting around your subjects.  My tip for beautiful rim lighting Experiment with your angles: As with backlit images, don't be afraid to experiment with different angles and positions to find the...
